Horses have settled in at their second evacuation location. I'm so happy to see them again! It had been three weeks since losing our home to the wildfire, and we weren't allowed to see them at the first host's home.

The seconds hosts of our horses informed us that we weren't doing enough to keep the outdoor paddock clean. But I was overwhelmed with clean up efforts from the wildfire, and keeping the paddock clean in pouring down rain was just unreasonable!

Not a very merry Christmas. But we try to be jolly.

In September of 2020, our community suffered a wildfire that ravaged over 300 homes in Otis, Oregon. Ours was---is---one of the devastating losses. But while we now live in a travel trailer (and thankful to be back on the property after being evacuees for 5 long months) we've been in the midst of cleanup efforts lately, namely the removal of burnt, singed, and dying trees. Enjoy watching the close-up operations.

They survived a wildfire, and they've endured so much more since then! Now a rain and windstorm that didn't let up for almost a week.
