Our home will never be the same. Sure, we replaced the house. But the land was changed forever.

As I write this in June of 2024, it's been nearly four years since the event. Native shrubs and other low plants are returning, but in my lifetime, I'll never see the size of the evergreen trees again that made this place so special. It took a lot of work to get us to the point where we could rebuild our lives. From picking through and sifting ashes, and sorting glass from metal, etc. all on my own (Jim was working a full-time job, and I had retired less than three weeks before the fire), to teams of workers. There were no "light-duty" tasks! All of these photos were taken on Pacific Woods Estate.
