Brief History: Opened in 1935 as a restaurant and entertainment center (long before electronics claimed the title!) It was also used as a hotel and dance hall, and hosted the Republican Dorchester Conference. Although the conference is not longer held here, it continues to be called the Dorchester Conference.

In 1988 The Dorchester was reopened after extensive remodeling as a residential retirement community.
